NABARD – KFW SOIL PROJECT: 

With the Kind support from NABARD, Two KFW Soil Projects (Edulapally and Manthatty of Vikarabad District) were implementing. The goal of this program is “integration of watershed development programme activities towards rehabilitation of degraded Soils and building climate resilience by improving adaptive capacities of the communities against changing climate in the watershed”

 

  1. Improving adaptation to climate variability/change in farm sector with better management and maintenance of soil and water regime enabling better crop / pasture land productivity and resultant increase in income of small and marginal farmers.

 

  1. Promoting climate resilient farming system and diversification of livelihoods engaging community and their associations in the concrete adaptation pathway.

 

  • Reducing climate change vulnerability and process of marginalization with integration of risk mitigation products, like crop, weather and market advisory; and information system.
  1. Measures to Mitigate Climate Change (CC ) Risk.
  2. Impact of climate change and selection of investment,
  3. Promotion of sustainable NRM , CCA farming practices and food security,

NABARD TDF Project (Tribal Development Fund Programme)

 

DOVE is implementing the comprehensive Tribal development Project under NABARD TDF programme in Peddemul Mandal of Ranga Reddy district, for 558 Tribal Families through “WADI” (Orchard development) approach involves the following components.

  • Orchard development (fruit/ plantation/herbal crops & forest plants) as the core component
  • Soil conservation.
  • Water Resources Development / management (conservation and use)
  • Women development – A special emphasis is given for involvement of women in all spheres of the programme. The components include drudgery reduction measures, on-farm and nonfarm income generating activities and self help groups for inculcating thrift and credit habits.
  • Community Health,
  • Livelihoods / Micro-enterprises for landless people.
  • Human resource development (community development).
  • Processing & marketing

 

This project is for the tribal community to improve the livelihood in a sustainable manner. Natural Resources based livelihoods are sustainable livelihoods. This project will create employment generation and mitigate the migration in all aspects. Tribal family’s confidence levels will increase through Permanent income sources.

 

 

 

NABARD- SDP Project (Sustainable Development Plan):

Keeping in view the livelihood issues faced by the farmers and distress encountered in the dryland / rain-fed areas, there is a need to prepare Sustainability Development Plan (SDP ). This is required not only to ensure sustainability of such institutions but also to facilitate Judicious and sustainable use of conserved natural resources by the watershed community for enabling increased farm income and creation of livelihood opportunities in such areas. Accordingly NABARD has sanctioned Two SDP projects in Vikarabad and Sangareddy Districts.

In the Projects 100% Financial Inclusion & Social Security scheme enrolment for all the members/ Households under the watershed area.

Issue of Soil Health cards for all the members, provided Trainings to farmers through KVKs and Agri skill centers, Formations of Farmers Producers Companies in the SSDP Project area, etc.

 

NABARD Climate Proofing project (CPP project):

During the Year NABARD has sanctioned Two Climate Projects was sanctioned, one is at Vikarabad District and another project is at Sangareddy District of Telangana State. The main Objectives of the Project are:

 

  1. Improving adaptation to climate variability/ change in farm sector with better management and maintenance of soil and water regime enabling better crop / pasture land productivity and resultant increase in income of small and marginal farmers.
  2. To protect the natural resources such as soil, moisture and vegetation to reduce the climate variability.
  • To diversify livelihood from paddy monoculture and introduce horticultural vegetable, integrated farming practices to improve livelihood security
  1. To introduce solar pumping system for efficient use of water in select crops based on vulnerability.
  2. To develop resource material and tool for monitoring of the climate change adaptation and mitigation co-benefits.
  3. Adoption of efficient water management technologies like micro irrigation, solar pumping system, water sharing/distribution system, etc. in the watershed;
  • Minimizing risk of crop failure in rainfed areas in the watershed
  • Creating marketing awareness among the members of the FPO

 

Farmers Producers Organizations / Companies Programme (FPO):

DOVE is involving in promotion and formation of Farmers producers Companies (FPOs) and Registered with Registrar of Companies with the NABARD Assistance in Vikarabad / Ranga Reddy and Medak districts of Telangana and provided training and Exposer visits to these organizations and arranged credit linkage from Banks. Under this programme six FPC/Os was registered in Registrar of Companies, 4 FPOs in Vikarabad District and 2 FPOs in Sangareddy District.

 

NABARD Farmers Club Programme:

DOVE is involving in formation of Farmers clubs in Ranga Reddy and Medak districts of Telangana and provided training and Exposer visits to these clubs and arranged credit linkage from Banks.

 

SAVE WATER CAMPAIGN (Jaldoot Programme):  With the financial aid from NABARD, DOVE organized “Save Water Campaign 2017“in Vikarabad and Sanga Reddy Districts. In this Programme we have developed Awareness on Water budgeting in the village (Required water Vs Available water in the village) Sock pits, Rain water harvesting pits in the households, Tanks renovation, Form ponds, Chanels/ Guilles / Nala clearing, artificial Open wells and bore Wells recharges, Soil moisture conservation, Small Water percolations tanks, etc. Trained water campaign volunteers (Jaldoots) are conducted Village survey with regards to available water in the village and required water for the village.

Livelihood / Credit Linkage Programmes for SHGs / Women Groups:

 

Loans will be provided to BPL women through Credit Programme.  The Government agencies like NABARD (through WDF Programme), is providing funds to Watershed Committee which is in turn implementing Credit to BPL / land less family women members.  With these loans, women are able to start income generating jobs which leads to increase in income and Socio-Economic Change.

 

One of the important objectives of the DOVE is to help BLP (Below Poverty Line) women and to make them self-reliance. For achieving this, the women were given training in income generating activities. Before starting training, Self Help Groups (SHGs) are formed and are provided financial assistance to encourage them in various fields like Dairying, Tailoring, Weaving, Typing, Computers etc., and these trained women requires finance to start the works. These women were provided loans through banks Credit Linkage programme.
