INTEGRATED REHABILITATION CENTRE FOR ADDICTS Message
As per National Survey 2019, on Extent and Pattern of Substance Use, conducted by National Drug Dependence Treatment Centre, AIIMS, reported that in India, the most common substance used is alcohol which is followed by cannabis and opioids. As per the report, 16cr persons consume alcohol, 3.1 Cr use cannabis and 2.26Cr use opioids. More than 5.7 Cr individuals are affected by harmful or dependence on alcohol and need help for their alcohol use problem. Demand Reduction as an indispensable pillar of drug control strategies in this process DOVE NGO established Integrated Rehabilitation Centers for Addicts– IRCAs under the scheme of Prevention of Alcoholism and Substance (Drugs) Abuse supported by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India. The Integrated Rehabilitation Centre for Addicts aims at providing complete services which are essential for a person’s recovery from Drug and alcoholic addiction. The high prevalence of alcoholism in the rural areas of Telangana is a major need behind this establishment. Bringing out the alcoholics and other drug users into clean lines thereby improving the socio economic status of their families is another major focus of this establishment.
I am very much impressed the work done by DOVE in remote villages for the wellbeing of weaker sections, downtrodden, Alcohol and Drug Addict people. It gives immense pleasure for me to see the activities of DOVE. The Organization, which is committed, can deliver the goods effectively to the maximum satisfaction of the beneficiaries. I appreciate the efforts made by DOVE organization in Prevention of Alcoholism and Substance (Drugs) Abuse in Telangana State. I am congratulating the managing committee and hundreds of workers in DOVE organization.
